The story, “Sound of Thunder” is another story with a surprise ending. This story is interesting, because it is about future technology, and the past. A time-travelling machine has been the topic for a lot of stories; however, this story uses it to explain the dangers of technology, and the importance of an individual’s actions. The ending of the story was very unbelievable, because the death of only one little butterfly changed the future; it changed the president and the spelling of words in general. One thing I don’t get about this story is how Eckels can be so scared of the dinosaur, and run off the path, when he was told to walk back to the machine. This makes me wonder how dinosaurs really looked, and if I would really want to see them or not. I think I would be scared too if I ever saw a tyrannosaurus rex. Another thing I like about this story is that, when I read it, it’s almost as if I can see the dinosaurs in my head, because the author is very descriptive, and uses figurative language to make the reader understand the situation more. I would recommend this story to people who like stories about dinosaurs, and adventure.

The Lady or The Tiger Reaction
I think the story, “The Lady or the Tiger”, is a remarkable one that makes you think about it days after you read it. The beginning was a bit boring, as the author explains about the semi-barbaric king and his kingdom. However, as I kept on reading and got to the part about his daughter, and the young man who fell in love with her and it got interesting. After reading this story, we voted on who we would’ve chosen if we were the princess, and it was amazing how I, and all the girls from the past years, chose to feed the man to the tiger, and all the boys chose the woman. I like this story very much because it is different, and doesn’t have a specific ending. I would suggest this story to anyone who likes stories with surprise endings, or stories that will make them think.
^Science Fair^
Science fair happened on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. My science fair topic was “Carbon Dioxide Everywhere”. In this project, I compared the amount of carbon dioxide in three different gas sources, ambient air, human breathe, and automobile exhaust. I gathered these gases in balloons, and released the gases through an indicator, Bromthymol Blue Solution, BTB. The color of the indicator changed, and to compare the Carbon dioxide, I needed to drop ammonia in each solution until the solution returned to its original color. The more drops needed to change the color back to its normal condition, the more amount of carbon dioxide there is in the solution. This works, because when the BTB solution is exposed to carbon dioxide, it changes into carbon acid, and ammonia, a base is used to neutralize it. My result was that automobile exhaust had the highest amount of carbon dioxide levels. Taking this further, considering the rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, I would suggest that people do green actions, such as recycling and driving smart.
